# How is AWF different from TDA?

🙌 IMPORTANT

AWF fully integrates with Total Design Automation (TDA) 🎉

Total Design Automation is a Global Automation initiative for delivering next-generation automation within the firm. AWF is a strategic partner with TDA, and all AWF workflows can integrate with the TDA platform. In the background, TDA will run engineering software on AWF for running analysis computations. All users are strongly encouraged to use the TDA platform, and setup their engineering computations on AWF!

# How is AWF different from Arup Compute?

Arup compute and Design Check are great for running calculations in the cloud. But AWF runs computations.

🤷‍♂️ What does that mean?

AWF is focused on delivering engineering analysis as a service. It can run a variety of engineering software in the cloud. Arup Compute runs calculations (functions) in the cloud, such as design calcluations with Design Check.

AWF fully integrates with Arup Compute and Design Check 🎉

You can add Design Check as part of your automated AWF workflow, for instance a workflow that runs GSA and then run a python script that communicates with Design Check for postprocessing. We have several workflows on AWF that do this!
